Club Maintenance

 

The club relies on help from members in order to run. Members are asked to volunteer to for activities; below is a list of some of the activities needed.

 

Maintenance

 

General repairs to the buildings or ground (join the team and work when convenient.)

Painting – as required e.g. Pavilion or Harry Heap Stand. Seats/benches around the ground maintaining and varnishing (annual.)

 

Mowing the Green

 

Can you join the rota for maybe once or twice a month – depends on number in the team. (Full training will be given.)

 

Mowing the sides of the Green

 

(Occasional/as required.)

 

Cleaning and restocking Toilet

 

An essential job but if we have a good team maybe once or twice a season each.

 

Gardening

 

Can you help by taking charge of a single flower bed for a season?

 

Other skills

 

Can you assist with any of the following:

  • Book keeping/Accounting.

  • Health & Safety.•First Aid.

  • Word Processing (e.g. MS Word.)

  • Running the Website for the club. (perhaps with assistance.)

 

Club Committee

 

Would you be willing to take part? The committee usually meets on a Friday morning once a month for about 45 minutes.

 

Catering and Social Committee (women & men)

 

Duties include buying catering items (milk,tea,biscuits etc) and collection of tea money. Cleaning the pavilion and purchase cleaning materials. Organise occasional social events, quiz nights etc.

 

Friendly Matches

 

To organise (or assist) Friendly Matches with other clubs.

 

Days Out

 

Organise a day out for bowling with a meal (Summer) We have also had occasional days out in the winter e.g. indoor bowling at Prestatyn with a meal.

 

Holiday abroad

 

Some years ago we had holidays abroad e.g. Cyprus where the selected hotel had bowling facilities – we might consider this again, possibly in conjunction with another club?

 

Club Competition (Annual)

 

In previous years we have had our annual knock-out competitions (Men’s and Ladies’ singles and doubles and mixed doubles) could you help organise this?
